My name is Melissa Briggs, and I have been running my IT, Sales & Marketing consultancy since 1991. I have thirty years experience in general sales management/marketing strategy especially for new businesses, Custom Electronics and Software Sales, IT, recruitment, purchasing, marketing and training. I also have local authority experience having served as a District Councillor in the Arun District, specialising in transport and planning issues, including deciding the pros and cons of the Eco Town at Ford, serving on the Lidsey Landfill committee, and the local development framework committee. I founded CarlEX, the Campaign against Residential Leasehold EXploitation in late 2009, (www.carlex.co) and stood as an Independent candidate in the General Election in May 2010, for CLIP (CarlEX Independent Leasehold Party), on a platform of leasehold reform, the scrapping of compulsory annuities (now legislated), and improved elderly care.
